Formerly known as Nepal Arab Bank Limited, it was established on 12 July 1984 as the first foreign joint-venture commercial bank in Nepal. In its most recent merger/acquisition, Nabil Bank acquired Nepal Bangladesh Bank on 21 July 2022. It is one of the leading private-sector commercial banks in Nepal.
