Its predecessor, Nepal Investment Bank Limited, was established in 1986 as Nepal Indosuez Bank Limited, a joint venture in which Credit Agricole Indosuez of France held 50%; the French stake was acquired by a Nepalese group in April 2002 and the bank was renamed Nepal Investment Bank. It merged with Mega Bank Nepal and began joint operations as Nepal Investment Mega Bank from 11 January 2023 (100:90 swap ratio). The merged entity had a combined paid-up capital of about Rs 34.12 billion and over 290 branches.
