NMB Bank Limited is a Kathmandu-based 'A' class commercial bank with its head office at NMB Bhawan, Babarmahal, Kathmandu. It began in 1996 as a finance company and was upgraded to a commercial bank in 2008. In 2015 it was formed into its current shape through the merger of five financial institutions — Bhrikuti Development Bank, Pathibhara Bikas Bank, Prudential Finance and Clean Energy Development Bank with NMB. In September 2016 the Netherlands development finance company FMO became the single largest shareholder via a joint-venture agreement, and in September 2019 NMB acquired Om Development Bank.
